How it works
- Keep the number of a rider you trust: someone a neighbour recommends, or the rider at your usual stage. Ask them first if they are happy to shop and deliver.
- Call and say clearly what you want, from which shop or market, and roughly how much it should cost.
- Agree his fee for the trip before he goes, so there are no surprises.
- He buys the items and rides to you. Tell him exactly where you are, or send a pin on WhatsApp.
- Check the items. If they are right, pay for the goods and his fee.
What it costs
You pay the shop price of the items plus the rider's fee, which usually depends on how far he rides and how long he waits. There is no standard rate, so agreeing it first matters. Riders you use often will usually give you a fair, steady price.
Where it falls short
- You must already know the rider, and he must be willing to take the job when you need it.
- He needs to know where you live, or you have to guide him each time.
- He has to shop for you and wait to be paid, which not every rider will do for every order.
- It is hard to give a long list by phone, so it works best for one or two things.
- You cannot see where he is. The only way to know is to call and ask.
Staying safe
- Use riders you know or that someone you trust recommends, not a stranger from a social media post.
- Do not give a rider a large amount of money upfront. Pay for the goods when they arrive and you have checked them.
- Ask for a photo or receipt for expensive items.
- For anything valuable, confirm the exact item before he buys it.
No rider to call?
On Nunua Pro you do not need anyone's number. Write your list, verified local buyers bid to shop for you, and you can see their rating before choosing. You follow them live, see what they have bought and what is left, and watch them travel to you with an estimated arrival time. A long list is no problem: your shopper gets it as a checklist.
